• TASTEE ANIMATION • |
|
Currently, I'm doing some animated spots for the Jamaican Patty Restaurant "Tastee". They have commissioned me to do a series of lower 3rd cartoons to run over locally televised sporting events in Jamaica. I'm told that the latest I am working on will be featured during the World Cup!
Here is the little star of these traditionally animated commercials. |

Is Animation art? How does one create an Animation that does not serve as utility or common practice, that engages the audience’s sensibilities and makes the viewer think about greater things? In hopes of establishing our argument, this show couples pieces that are abstract, conceptual and poetic with that which are commercial, concrete and narrative. We hope you enjoy them. We hope it is Art. |

Here is our official invite to the show! Craig pretty much designed it…I just threw in my imagery on the right and helped with the text. The show opening and reception take place the first Wednesday of March in the Mark K. Wheeler Gallery located at The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. So come out, have a Magners or a Guiness (or both) and check out what the kooky/artsy animators have been up to! |

With about a month left until the gallery show opens, I now have all my final audio laid into my films! Douglas “Lil’ Dougy” Thornton at Post Scores did yet another phenomenal job on both music and sound effects for all my pieces. Hats off to his son, Aidan, as well. Lucky little guy…how many kids can say they do sound effects for award winning cartoons?!? Check out the full version of The Old Sap and Shutterbird at my show in March or look for them in animation festivals soon after. Check back for details on which ones they’ll be in |

Above is my installation concept for the gallery show that me and 3D guru, Craig Kelly, are having in March. "Poetry & Pros: Animation is Art" will take place at the Mark K. Wheeler Gallery and will feature most of the animation and art produced during my Master’s degree, including Shutterbird, The Old Sap and my 30 second commercial, Fruit Hots! Craig’s section will be 3D animation set to poetry and music he wrote. Keep a look out for posters and check back before March to find out when the opening reception will be…we’re gonna have Magners!!! |

Initially, I finished this animated short back in late 2005 but I still needed to add all the (pain in the ars) bark detail to the tree. Shutterbird was next and sucked up all my time. When my buddy Craig and I decided to have our gallery show, I knew I had to finish animating the bark and show it off. Also, after 3 years, I had a touch of “Lucas syndrome” and felt the need to revision some of the background elements. Now it’s all up to my sound guy! Check back soon to see a clip from the finished piece before the show. |
