Enchanter's Keep
Enchanter's Keep Gamescreen
Hopefully, this will be my first official (and finished) Flash game. It’s a point-and-click fantasy adventure in a land full of puzzles and magic where…alright, it’s pretty much every game out there but it’s still gonna be fun! There’s a pretty solid flowchart and the game screens are mapped out for the first chapter...I’ve also got a jump on the story and game screens for the second chapter. I even have a programmer lined up! There are about 34 game screens and 33 animated cut scenes for chapter one so it’ll be in the works for a while. Each chapter will probably have two parts…and I have no idea how many chapters there will be yet. I’m hoping to develop something here that could maybe even spawn some fan fiction.

Beenee Battles Logo
Beenee Battlez

This is the vehicle I was using to learn Flash (which I’ve now forgotten how to use). I thought it would be cool to do a fighter where Beanie Babies kick the crud out of each other.  In the story, a fairy is bored one day so she flies into a little girl’s room and brings the Beenees to life.  Now, she and her fellow pixies can place bets on their bouts. The game logo was done by Rafael Toledo, who also designed about half the characters for the game. Check out some of Senior Prickles’ moves Here.  The Flash programming was done by Keith Lackey.

Wily's Lair
Every once and a while (usually when I have a little down-time), I go insane and start a project that is way more ambitious than I’m willing to commit to and is in no way lucrative or marketable. This is the mother of those projects! It’s a tribute to two of my favorite video games: Dragon’s Lair and Mega Man. Wily’s Lair would’ve been a Flash game that had Mega Man questing through every level found in Dragon’s Lair…only Mega-Manized.  I got half way through animating my second room before my Masters Thesis crept up and swallowed me whole. Alas, Wily’s Lair is doomed to be left as a concept of my fandom…even if I did manage to conceptually convert every room in DL to fit MM’s universe.  You can view the one room I did finish Here.  Enjoy!

The Secret Formula

The Secret Formula- Hero

This one has a lot of fun characters in it…like Diego the Unholy Hamster and Kreskin the Telekinetic Dolphin! It also stars Stanley, who wound up as the main character in my Master’s Thesis film, Shutterbird. In this side-scroller, you have to battle your way through the many floors of a university chasing after the antagonist. Along the way, you pick up beakers filled with different chemicals that help you pass the obstacles you encounter.  Originally, the game was about combining the different chemicals to get different effects…then I played Blinx, where you have to combine different gems. I got really frustrated with that process so narrowed it down to simply enhancing a particular chemical with more of the same. One day, maybe!

Robbie

Robbie Powers

This is a little side-scroller that is very reminiscent of games from the late 80’s - early 90’s: Power-ups, jumping, sonic speed…yeah, I borrowed some stuff. WHAT OF IT?!!

Slimetrail is a dark snail wizard who summons the spirits of ten good snail wizards to possess garden vegetables. They are Gwappa, Mucus, Conch, Sluggo, Shelly, Cargo, Truffle, Wentle, Fritter and Silvertrail.  Robbie’s job is to free the spirits and return harmony to the garden…much like Martha Stewart…but without the jail time!

Hey, it’s Mega Man…with chemistry!!!  Mega Man 2 was the shiz-no back in the day and is still one of my favorite games.  Fortunately, I played the first MM after part 2 or I would have abandoned the franchise altogether (whew, close one).  This was going to be a series of seven games where an event that happened in this one would eventually be resolved in the last…very Harry Potter, I know, but mine was first so take that JK! Let’s see, Sam’s mentor is Professor Urh (German for clock) and the weather-controlling Professor Peevish is his nemesis. In later games a villain named Baron Von Rottseneggsen makes an appearance.  I can guarantee this game won’t see the light of day but I still like the nostalgia of it all.

Cyborg Standoff 1 The Intergalactic
Cyborg Standoff
This is your typical fighter…with robots…and a little outdated now, yet conceptually ahead of its time. The gimmick was that you played one of several aliens that came from another galaxy (the web) with their cyborg. You would then challenge your robot against another alien’s robot (online player) in an arena (internet). Eventually, you could earn enough cash to build another customized cyborg or enhance your existing ones. Of course now you can just play WOW or any other online, character building, battle game…but where are all the robots? Still a chance…YES! Also, I came up with a ninja chick that was made out of chrome, like the T-1000 from Terminator 2! Then Virtua Fighter came out with a similar character. LOUSY BUMS!!! Oh well, she’s still sexy…in a mercury-toned tush sort of way.
